IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY MOTHER PARVEEN (PINO)
The name came before the logo, the collection, or the first sketch.
When i began planning my brand, I filled pages with ideas: elegant words, graceful words, words that sounded like they belonged on a label. None of them felt right. Each one was polished, and each one was empty.
Then one evening, looking at an old photograph of my mother, young, poised, a flower in her hair, that unmistakable red on her lips, the answer was simply there. Everything i wanted to make, and everything i wanted a woman to feel when she wore it, had come from one person.
I thought of the word I had used for my mother all my life: Maa I thought of the pet name that everyone who loved her used: Pino.
Maa and Pino. Together, MAAPINO.
It wasn't a name chosen for a market. It was a name chosen for a promise: that every stitch would be made with the care Pino showed, every fabric chosen with the honesty Pino taught, and every woman who wore it would feel the quiet confidence my mother gave me.
Today in Pakistan, MAAPINO carries that promise in every piece: fabrics chosen with care, finishing that holds up under close inspection, delicate embroidery, soft florals. It is a brand built by a daughter, and a mother's name sits right there on every label.
My mother never ran a business. But she taught me how to read fabric, to value quality and to believe in myself, and when it was time to name what i built, there was only one name that could carry all of it.
